The ARIA-nominated Zela Margossian Quintet is riding high on the back of its critically acclaimed 2022 release, The Road. Pianist Margossian – described as a “bright new force” by The Sydney Morning Herald – has garnered international attention in recent years for her kaleidoscopic original works and arrangements carrying influences from Armenian traditional music, melded with jazz and classical roots.
 
Alongside Margossian, ZMQ features a talented and multicultural line-up of Sydney musicians in Alexander Inman-Hislop (drums), Adem Yilmaz (percussion), Jacques Emery (double bass) and Stuart Vandegraaff (saxophone and woodwind).
